DEVILS ADVOCATE

Last chance to grab inaugural Devils AFL guernsey

- James Bresnehan

Tasmania Devils jumpers are flying off the “shelf” with the equivalent of about 500 football teams in guernseys sold in the first 12 days on sale and only three days left to grab a limited edition foundation member jumper.

The jumpers are the first official merchandise released by the club, and are available only for foundation members, of which there are 180,000.

Most of the sales have been in the domestic market but Devils supporters from overseas have also grabbed their jumpers.

The online sale is open until 5pm Friday.

Tasmania Football Club executive director Kath McCann said the take-up had been amazing.

“We have been thrilled with the response to the first official piece of merchandise on sale, with thousands of jumpers being ordered from across the world,” she said.

“Sales are well split between men’s, women’s and youth sizmen’s ing and will be distributed over the coming four to six weeks.

“The TFC Team cannot wait to see jumpers being proudly worn as they reach member mailboxes.”

The jumpers will be made in and women’s cut ($99.95), and children’s sizes ($89.95), and will include a foundation member insignia on the back neckline (no numbers on the back).

“More official merchandise is currently being planned, TFC are working with our member base to identify the items most sought after, with announcements on the items and timing scheduled for the coming weeks,” Ms McCann said. The next piece of merchandise is likely to be caps, followed by such wearables as polos, scarfs and beanies.
