Servo with fast food outlets planned for Glebe Hill

- Judy Augustine

A 24-hour service station, with two major fast food outlets attached to it, could be built next to the Glebe Hill Village.

A development application is being advertised for the build across 9, 11 and 13 Commerce Drive, Howrah.

The three lots would be consolidated into one.

The two fast food outlets planned for the site are a 24hour Hungry Jacks and a KFC.

The land is zoned as general business and the proposed development is located next to the Glebe Hill Shopping Centre and is adjacent to a residential subdivision.

The Hungry Jacks would be 295 sqm and the KFC would be built across 275 sqm

Each store would include a drive-through, and the Hungry

Jacks one will also be available 24/7.

The KFC plans to operate between 10am and 10pm, and there could be late night trading from Thursdays to Saturdays.

The plans say the service station is expected to be run by Caltex, and would include a small convenience store with takeaway.

The plans show space for 35 on-site car spaces, three of which would be disability accessible.

A traffic assessment suggests the build of the service station and fast food outlets will increase peak hour morning traffic by 120 trips and peak hour evening traffic by 290 trips.

The plans are available for viewing on the Clarence Council website until April 30. judy.augustine@news.com.au
