Nukeproof’s Sam Hill signature Horizon Pro flat pedals are favourites in the MBUK office, so it’s exciting to see them bring out a clipless version. The influence of the Horizon flat is clearly visible in the shape and the six adjustable pins per side. While the clip mechanism doesn’t rotate, as with Shimano and Crank Brothers’ systems, the twin sprung jaws allow you to clip in from multiple directions and you can vary the release angle by switching cleats (two sets are included). They’ll work with Shimano SPD cleats too. Weight is reasonable, at 516g a pair (with chromoly axles). Does this mean the Aussie flat pedal destroyer is going to clip in? We can’t imagine so!
