Wera Tool-Check Plus mini ratchet set £69

At twice the price of alternative mini ratchet sets, we expected the Tool-Check Plus to really deliver in the shed. Despite its small size it’s quite heavy and very solidly built. The star of the show is the Zyklop Mini ratchet. With a super-smooth movement and solid steel construction, it can handle up to 65Nm of torque. The direction switch is quite small and fiddly, but this does make it difficult to knock it into reverse accidentally. Wera’s ‘Rapidator’ bit holder can be used to extend the reach of the tool. Its sliding lock mechanism makes changing bits a doddle. Should you need less torque, the bits can be inserted into a separate driver handle. The comprehensive selection of 36 tool bits and sockets comes in a tough case. With almost every type of fitting catered for, we’ve managed to build bikes almost exclusively using the Tool-Check Plus.
