Schwalbe have updated the compounds used in their mountain bike tyres, with four new ‘Addix’ rubber blends now covering the entire range. It comes after the German company invested US$1.5 million in machinery claimed to provide the most precise mixing in the bike tyre industry. • Addix Speed is for cross-country racing • Addix Speedgrip is for trail riding and replaces PaceStar • Addix Soft is for enduro and downhill, and replaces TrailStar • Addix Ultra Soft is an ultra-tacky option for enduro and downhill, and takes over the VertStar spot
