DROP TAIL

Always check the fit of a jacket by leaning forward into a riding position – is your lower back still covered? We favour a long drop tail for the best possible protection.

DRAWCORDS

A drawcord hem is your insurance against dirt and spray working its way up your back. On a hood, it allows you to customise the fit. The best drawcords are of the ‘single-pull and release’ style, making them easy to operate one-handed on the fly.

ZIP PULLS

Longer and grippier zip pulls are easier to use with cold or gloved hands.

ARTICULATED SLEEVES

Cut to follow the curve of your arms when riding, these make for a slimmer shape that won’t flap like a sail on descents.

HOOD

If you’re out all day, you’ll want a hood. Whether it’s designed to go under or over your helmet, make sure it can be tweaked to fit so it doesn’t restrict your vision. A peak will keep drips out of your eyes.

CUT

Look for movement in the shoulders and sufficient length in the sleeves when you reach forward, plus enough room to add winter layers without the jacket being baggy.
