Unusually, 7iDP’s new downhill pads use a knitted – rather than neoprene or Lycra – sleeve, which should win them fans among allergy sufferers, the sweaty and the spandex shy. Elsewhere it’s business as usual for a DH pad, with a (bonded on) hard knee cup, softer padding underneath and at the sides, and coverage that extends a good way down the leg.
