TAPED NECK SEAM
Neck seams don’t have to be that lumpy to be irritating. For best comfort, look for a smooth-taped seam, which will minimise the risk of chafing.
DROPPED TAIL
Even on a casual T-shirt style, a slightly longer rear hem will help keep your back covered and stop the jersey falling forward when you ride.
LENS WIPE
Tucked into a pocket or sewn into the hem, a lens wipe is one of those small details you don’t realise is useful until you need it. A much better option than using the hem of your non-absorbent shorts, which will just smear dirt everywhere.
FLATLOCK SEAMS
Regular seams create a ridge where the two pieces of fabric are placed together and turned. Flatlock construction places the pieces edge to edge to create a flat seam, which is less likely to rub. RAGLAN SLEEVE Identified by a diagonal seam running from armpit to collar, this style of sleeve construction allows freer movement of the shoulders.
