If you don’t want to wear a backpack but are still looking to carry the essentials on your rides, one of Dakine’s Hot Laps ‘waist bags’ might be the perfect fit. The 5l version (£55) contains a 2l HydraPak bladder, while the 2l option (£30) has a pull-out water bottle holder. There’s a smaller Stealth pack too (also £30). Internally, all have a fleece-lined phone pocket and separate mesh pocket, plus space in the main compartment for a multi-tool, tube and snack.
