BBB Echo BSD-152 saddle £69.95
We try not to stare, but there’s a wide variety of rumps riding round the trails. Thankfully, there are now lots of different-shaped saddles for supporting them. If you find that rounded and/or narrow perches attack your nether regions like a log splitter, then you’ll probably like the BBB Echo a lot. It’s available in the broad 155mm version tested here or a middling 145mm width (BSD-151), with a correspondingly wide nose for each size. There’s a moderate amount of padding and a slight central indent to relieve pressure, but the hull is pretty firm if you’re used to a more flexible, cradling base. The rubbery top gets sweaty too, but it’s weatherproof, reasonably grippy and the back edge gets a protective strip. At 274g, it isn’t a bad weight, and the price is OK too. Guy www.windwave.co.uk
