Mondraker’s ‘Forward Geometry’ kickstarted the whole long-and-low trend and their new trail/enduro bike is stretched-out even by today’s standards. The 66-degree head angle is fairly progressive for a 29er, but it’s the reach that really sets it apart – our medium bike measures 470mm from its BB to the top of its head tube. That’s longer than some XL bikes from a couple of years ago! It rocks 150mm of rear wheel travel and 160mm up front, controlled, on this mid-range carbon model, by ‘Factory’ series Fox dampers. SRAM provide their 12-speed Eagle gearing and Code brakes, and it’s topped off with Mondraker’s own Onoff finishing kit. A metric shock and Boost spacing bring it bang up to date, and Mondraker continue to push future trends by speccing a shorter-offset fork. Our sample weighs 13.68kg (30.2lb). www.silverfish-uk.com
