The S2 AM is available in both 35mm and 31.8mm bar-clamp diameters and three lengths (50mm, 40mm and 33/30mm). Our 35x40mm version weighed 166g, which is slightly heavier than average for this size. The bar clamp is easy to use, thanks to the zero-gap upper bolts, which should be done up snug first. It’s then easy to adjust your bar position, before torquing up the lower 4mm Allen bolts. The steerer clamp also uses 4mm bolts, which are pre-greased and clearly marked with a torque specification of 7Nm. This is plenty to stop the stem from twisting on the steerer, unless you crash hard. While the S2 AM performs solidly, there are cheaper and lighter options that work just as well, even if they don’t look quite as slick. Seb www.ison-distribution.com
