The Moterra LT’s odd-shaped down tube is a case of form following function. Cannondale have rotated the Bosch motor slightly further than on the other bikes here, which allows them to get the main pivot closer to the chainring and shorten the back end. They’ve also attached the battery low down on the underside of the down tube, to lower the bike’s centre of gravity and thus improve its handling. It’s one of the few e-MTBs not to use plus-size tyres.
