O’Neal Pinned £80

-

O’Neal show that keeping things simple is often the best way to make top-value gravity shoes. The inverted skate-style tread in gummy rubber gives loads of grip when you’re unclipped and easy entry/exit without spaced cleats. Its shallow depth and flexibility make it easy to judge traction too. The shoes come with bolted blanking plates, so you can use them on flat pedals too. Unsurprisingly, muddy grip is poor and the soft sole means a floppy feel under power, so they’re best for going down rather than up. The synthetic leather upper shrugs off splashes and showers, and the roomy fit can be cinched down fine with the laces. Scuff/impact protection is provided by the projecting toe bumper, raised side welts and thickly-padded collar, making them a gravity-riding bargain. www.moorelarge.co.uk
