Route summary Known as the Camel’s Back because it has two big lumps in it, this ride provides good views and long, fast descents

1 Turn right out of the car park and go over the bridge. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead (‘Ballacaley’). Turn left on the A3, into Ballaugh. At the crossroads by The Raven pub, go left. Continue up the Ballaugh Glen Road towards Ballaugh Plantation. Ignore the left turn at the T-junction to continue up through the car park and enter the trees.

2 Follow the main fireroad, which winds its way up the valley via a couple of hairpin turns before emerging from the trees. Keep on the stone track until you reach a crossroads. Turn left on the narrow Druidale Road and follow it north for around 1km. When it bears sharply left, join the green lane on the right, which takes you past Mount Karrin. 3 After a steep descent to the A14, follow the tarmac left, towards Sulby. Turn right at the crossroads from earlier, go back over the bridge and left past the car park. Continue to the Ginger Hall Hotel and turn right on the main road, uphill. By the white (Kerrowmar West) garden monument, go right on a hidden (green) lane.

4 Climb steeply (the surface becomes rough in places), up onto the moor. Continue straight ahead, with a wall to your left. Then turn left through the gate, to join the Millennium Way at Sky Hill. Follow this fast, stony descent for over 2km, through the trees and back to the TT course/main road. Turn left at the bottom, back to Sulby. Go left by the Ginger Hall Hotel, back to the car park.
