whinlatter
Surrounded by some of the Lake District’s biggest hills, Whinlatter is one of the few places in the England where you can mountain bike on an actual mountain. But don’t let this intimidate you – the three manmade trails (plus a gravel loop) here are relatively easy, with only the odd optional black section. This makes it a great place for improving riders, and with it’s all-weather surface, you can make the most of Whinlatter whether the weather has decided to refill the lakes or not.
