Mountain Biking UK

MBUK’S MONTH

The highs & lows of life on the mag

-

We’ve been exploring some great UK trails recently. JCW, Jimmer, Luke and Sarah went down to Exmoor for a day of uplift-assisted riding and came away buzzing. Check out the feature on page 54. As well as building a new blue trail at Cwmcarn in South Wales, Architrail (the UK arm of Claudio Caluori’s Velosolutions) are putting the finishing touches to a full-scale pump track in Bristol. Our lunchtime sessions just went up a gear! It’s great to see brands doing their bit for the planet – the latest being Scottish kit manufacturers Endura, who’ve committed to planting one million trees a year to help offset their carbon footprint. Good for them! We’re all living in fear of the lurgy as COVID-19 spreads worldwide. Working from home is proving challenging for those on the

MBUK staff with kids – and for Jimmer’s long-suffering wife! The first big event to be postponed or cancelled was the Sea Otter Classic, soon followed by the first three World Cup races and opening Enduro World Series rounds. Domestically, everything is being rescheduled, from the inaugural ’Ard Dales Enduro to TweedLove and the London E-Bike Festival. Bike parks and bike shops across the country are closing too, and trail centres are scaling back their operations. Stay safe everyone. DH World Cup frontrunner Tahnée Seagrave is out of action for the foreseeable future with a nasty tiband-fib break sustained while dirt jumping. We’re sending healing vibes and crossing our fingers that she’s back on two wheels soon.
