LEEDS URBAN BIKE PARK
Looking for the UK’s best city trail loop? Well, this is the place to find it – in our opinion, at least! Despite not being much of a hill, Middleton Park, home to Leeds Bike Park, is a whole lot bigger than it first appears, and every berm of the 3km red route seems to lead into another straight of pump-track-esque flow trail that keeps the speed and excitement high with scarcely a pedal stroke required. Options to pump, gap or manual through the rollers mean the trail is accessible to a wide range of abilities, and there’s a whole load more jumps to check out near the main centre. Mellow beginner loops suitable for kids sit next to lines of tabletops that get progressively bigger in size, right up to some pretty hefty senders, and there’s also a full-size BMX track. The only downside is that it isn’t very sheltered where the jumps are built, so getting too sendy in the wind isn’t advised. On-site facilities are excellent too, with a well-stocked bike shop/ workshop, bike hire and a cafe that’ll satisfy all your cake-consumption requirements.
