MERIDA GO LITE, BUT NOT LIGHT

eONE-FORTY and eONE-SIXTY full-power e-bikes build on success of analogue models

-

NEED TO KNOW

Merida have redesigned their e-MTBs to share looks and suspension with the brand’s award-winning enduro and trail bikes. The new eOne-Sixty CF (reviewed on p50), eOne-Sixty Lite and eOne-Forty Lite ranges all use a horizontally-mounted rear shock. Pedalling assistance is provided by Shimano’s latest EP801 motor, with 85Nm of max torque and 600W of peak power; the carbon fibre CF bikes get a 600Wh fixed battery, while the alloy Lite models have a bigger 750Wh power pack, which can be removed. All the bikes can run a 29in or 650b rear wheel. The eOne-Forty models come with 29in wheels at both ends and 143mm of rear-wheel travel, courtesy of a single-pivot swingarm and linkage-actuated shock. Meanwhile, the eOneSixty bikes have a mixed-wheel ‘mullet’ set-up as stock and 174mm of rear-wheel travel, with flexstays used in place of a seatstay pivot.

WHO’S IT FOR?

Anyone wanting the top performance of Merida’s lauded trail and enduro bikes with added pedalling assistance.
