Little Big Shots’ Micah has her sights set on the big time.
HIP-HOP DANCER MICAH REVEALS PLANS TO HIT THE BIG TIME
Being in the spotlight has always come naturally to bright and bubbly eightyear-old Micah June. So it’s little wonder the New South Wales hip-hop dancer, who also loves to sing up a storm, simply jumped at the chance to star on pint-sized variety show Little Big Shots.
Having performed on stage in Sydney earlier this year with none other than international megastar Justin Bieber after winning a Youtube dance competition, Micah wasn’t the least bit fazed about strutting her stuff in front of the camera for the TV show.
‘I just love, love, love dancing! It’s my favourite thing to do,’ she exclaims with a huge smile.
‘You don’t need to follow
other people when you’re dancing – you can just follow your heart. You can make up your own routine.’
Micah, who has been hip-hopping for as long as she can remember, hopes to be a superstar just like Justin Bieber when she grows up.
‘It was so exciting to be on stage with him and he was very nice,’ she says. ‘I also loved being on Little Big Shots, and Shane [Jacobson, the host] was very, very funny. I tried to teach him how to dance.’
Micah’s mum Anna – also a talented dancer along with her husband and Micah’s dad Maurice – is proud as can be of her daughter.
‘From a very young age, Micah has been very good at dancing,’ she says. ‘She’s also a very hard worker, so whatever she does, I think she’s going to be incredible at it.’
