QMy son is 40 years old and works as an apprentice chef. He has always been so busy that he has never had time for a relationship, but I know he would love to find someone. Do you see a lady in his near future?

Patricia, via email.

APatricia, it seems that your son really likes his job – that’s good. The thing about relationships is that you have to invest time and energy in order to have one.

If meeting a mate is a priority for your son, he’ll take the time to meet someone, and then he’ll need to make time for her in order to keep her. Women are funny that way, we like attention – it makes us feel special.

My sense is that his best bet for finding a mate is online dating. Tell him to give it a try.

QMy ex-husband took his own life last year. My two children and I are still struggling with our loss. I recently had a dream of him in his coffin, naked, covered in water up to his neck. He was then sitting on a chair with our daughter on his lap, while my son and I were standing back from them. What does this mean? Does he know we love him?

Margaret, via email.

AMargaret, suicide sends a ripple effect through everyone the deceased loved, because it’s hard for many to comprehend that the person didn’t want to live.

Your dream is an interesting one. Your ex-husband being covered in water most likely represents how he was feeling before he died – about to go under, unable to save himself. Being naked represents his vulnerability. He couldn’t shield himself from the pain the world made him feel. Your daughter on his lap could mean you being worried she’ll be the one most affected by his passing.

Your ex can see you all love him. Let your children know he’s with them every day. It’s important for them to understand he didn’t die because they didn’t love him enough, or that he didn’t love them enough.

QI am married with two children. I have had cancer twice in eight years, and I sometimes feel down about my marriage. Will I be happy? Will my finances, health and relationship improve?

Angela, via email. Angela, you have a say in whether your finances, health and relationship improve. What are you doing to better those areas of your life?

If you’re eating right and exercising, that goes a long way. State of mind is crucial. Stay positive, be charitable, reach out to people and be the person that you always wanted to be.
