They’re fighting... again! JEN & ANGE AT WAR ...OVER ANOTHER MAN
THE BATTLE LINES HAVE BEEN DRAWN AS ANGE STEPS OUT WITH A MAN VERY CLOSE TO JEN’S HEART
Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie are once again at war because of a man – but this time, it’s not Brad Pitt. Sources tell New Idea that Jen is ‘livid’ over Ange’s growing friendship with NBC Universal exec Ronald Meyer – who’s the father of the Friends star’s best pal Jennifer Meyer.
The mum-of-six and the distinguished movie boss were spotted looking very close as they left trendy LA sushi restaurant Umeda last week, prompting a furious reaction from 48-year-old Jen.
‘Jen is best friends with Ron’s daughter Jennifer Meyer, who even designed wedding rings for her big day with Justin,’ an insider close to Jen tells. ‘They’re practically like sisters!
‘She’s very close with Ron, too, and everybody in Hollywood knows that – including Angelina. Jen is absolutely steaming after seeing the pictures of them having a cosy dinner together.
‘She thinks this is a catty move on Angelina’s behalf, and a very deliberate one at that. They went to a really busy area of LA and chose somewhere with glass walls and no back door to sneak out of, when they clearly could have met at a discreet location.
‘Jen’s convinced that Ange wanted to go to a restaurant where she knew they would be photographed, and she didn’t exactly look surprised to see cameras outside when they left. Jen is completely outraged and can’t believe Angie would stoop this low.
‘She called all her friends to vent, including Jennifer Meyer, who assured her that it’s just business. But that didn’t make her feel any better.’
It’s been 12 years since Brad and Jennifer ended their five-year marriage, after Brad filmed Mr & Mrs Smith with Angelina. While they denied cheating rumours, Brad and Angelina quickly went public with their romance following the split – leading Jen to tell Vanity Fair: ‘The world was shocked, and I was shocked.’
And while Brad and Ange have since split, Jen is now battling more angst thanks to her love nemesis’ new friendship with married man Ron.
‘Everyone’s buzzing that Angelina is about to make her big movie comeback amid the divorce, and she’s decided Ron is the man to help her do it,’ the source says. ‘It may well have
just been a professional decision on Ange’s part, but Jen is absolutely taking this personally. She feels very protective over the whole Meyer family. She’s not angry at Ron, because he is a businessman through and through – but she felt her heart sink when she saw the pictures.
‘Jen is over what happened with Brad, but she believes Ange is a selfish person and she doesn’t try to hide her feelings about it. Jen also feels like this is a bit of a career dig at her... It’s not like she isn’t successful, but it upsets her that she is just seen as a rom-com star who missed out on an Oscar nomination, when Angie got her first Academy Award before she had even turned 30. She thinks Angelina is acting smug.’
Ange’s public meeting with Ron comes weeks after she was spotted with hunky Netflix exec Scott Stuber during another business meeting.
‘Every time Ange steps out with a married man, their wives panic,’ says a source. ‘Jen isn’t the only star in Hollywood who’s had their feathers ruffled by Ange right now!’ NI
