JUST FOR LAUGHS SATURDAY, 8.30PM [AEDT], THE COMEDY CHANNEL

Prepare to laugh until you cry at the latest instalment of the popular Aussie comedy festival. Hosted by The Project’s Tommy Little, Just For Laughs returns for a fifth season and will feature over 30 top internatio­nal and local comedians, including Wil Anderson and Rhys Darby.

THE NINETIES SUNDAY, 8.30PM, SBS

It was the era of rollerblad­ing, tamagotchi, boy bands and crimped hair. This series delves into the events, trends and pop culture that shaped the ’90s. Executive produced by Tom Hanks, the first episode looks at TV. Plus, news became increasing­ly sensationa­lised thanks to the OJ Simpson trial and Monica Lewinsky scandal.

CRAM THURSDAY, 7.30PM, CHANNEL TEN

Aussie funnyman Pete Helliar has landed himself a top gig, hosting Australia’s new comedy game show.

Pete will guide two teams of comedians and celebritie­s – led by team captains comedian Dilruk Jayasinha and actress Virginia Gay – as they test their memories across a huge series of general knowledge categories. Each category will be introduced with a ‘cram’, a brief video on any subject from dogs to Leonardo da Vinci, jeans to Justin Bieber.

On this week’s show, Virginia, Miranda Tapsell and Frank Woodley go head-to-head against Dilruk, Dr Chris Brown and Nick Cody.

DRAMA THE LET DOWN WEDNESDAY, 9.35PM, ABC

Parents’ group triggers a reverse anxiety in Audrey (Alison Bell) when she realises she’s the only one who isn’t following a parenting book. Is her relaxed attitude simply bad parenting?

Meanwhile, in the second episode of the all-too-real Aussie comedy series, Audrey finally settles Stevie to sleep. And just when peace and calm has been restored in the house, there’s a knock at the door... the in-laws have arrived!

STREAMING ALIAS GRACE LAUNCHES FRIDAY ON NETFLIX

Fans of cult hit The Handmaid’s Tale rejoice, because this one’s for you! Based on another Margaret Atwood novel, this new series is set in 19th-century Canada and it’s every bit as gripping as the former Atwood series. In Alias Grace, a psychiatri­st decides whether a murderess should be pardoned due to insanity.
