Zara Phillips talks about moving Down Under

THE MUCHLOVED ROYAL CHATS TO NEW IDEA ABOUT FAMILY, CAREER AND HER LOVE OF ALL THINGS AUSSIE!

Zara Phillips is heading Down Under – and she couldn’t be more excited! The Olympic equestrian is coming to Australia in January to continue her role as patron of the Magic Millions Racing Women.

‘I can’t wait to return!’ Zara reveals exclusively to New Idea.

‘Magic Millions falls at a great time of the year – it is nice to have a little escape from the depths of a UK winter and enjoy the sunshine and incredible beaches the Gold Coast has to offer, all while taking part in and witnessing some of the best equine events on offer anywhere around the world,’ she gushes.

And Zara – who in 2012 carried the Olympic flame – couldn’t be prouder of the Gold Coast event.

‘It feels very special to be part of something that is a world first. The Magic Millions Racing Women initiative is all about getting women involved in racehorse ownership,’ she explains.

Despite her royal pedigree, the 36-yearold is passionate about following her own path.

‘It is very important to have your own career and direction that you want to take, while also encompassing all the values your family has taught you,’ she says.

A work ethic that she will no doubt instil in Mia – her threeyear-old daughter with husband Mike Tindall. In fact, Mia may very well be following in her mum’s footsteps.

‘She already rides, but hasn’t tried polo yet,’ Zara admits.

This year, Mike, 39, will once again be joining Zara in Australia. The former rugby star is also an ambassador for the Magic Millions and will be co-hosting the polo event, along with Hamish Mclachlan.

‘I am sure the two of them will have plenty of fun!’ says Zara of her husband.

And in the meantime, the British royal is looking forward to swapping her riding gear for a glamorous outfit at the glitzy event.

‘I spend a lot of time in the saddle and around horses when I am at home and competing, so it is definitely nice to get dressed up and be part of the many events across the week of Magic Millions.’ So what’s next for Zara? While she admits that she’d love to take part in another Olympic Games, she also wouldn’t entirely rule out a move to Australia.

‘It is a great lifestyle in Australia, so it’s definitely tempting,’ she admits.
