ANNA KENDRICK REVEALS HER HOPES FOR ANOTHER FLICK
Get the tissues ready, because Pitch Perfect 3 is the last time that the all-female a cappella group, The Barden Bellas, will be making music together... Or is it?
After the high of winning the a cappella world championships, The Bellas find themselves having a quarter-life crises. Since graduating from college, the girls have been living separate lives and, it turns out, job prospects in the real world aren’t shaping up to be what they expected. So, when the opportunity to reunite for an overseas United Service Organisation tour pops up, they jump at the chance to share one last adventure together. And, it’s aca-awesome!
But is this really going to be the last flick?
According to scriptwriter, Kay Canon, The Bellas will likely be no more. ‘I think it’s the end of the Bellas as we know them,’ she told E! News. ‘If there’s a Pitch Perfect 4, it will be a new crop.’
However, if Anna Kendrick, who plays lead singer Beca, has anything to do with it they will be making Pitch Perfect flicks until the cast is all on walkers.
‘If it were up to me and the girls, we would do a million of them!’ Anna told Parade. ‘But it’s possible that this will be the last one and we’re OK with that too. We’ll hang out forever.’
Anna admitted there was plenty of love on set and the girls genuinely enjoy spending time together.
‘It’s totally like summer camp,’ Anna told Refinery 29. ‘We spend every waking moment together – we’re shooting together constantly, we’re in the hair and make-up trailer together and when we’re not shooting, we’re in a green room together,’ she continued. ‘It starts to feel like “Oh, my God if I see these girls for one more second…” and then every weekend it’s just like, ‘What you guys up to?’’’
The third instalment of the hit franchise will not only see the return of our favourite a cappella group but Anna revealed fans will learn more about Fat Amy’s (played by Rebel Wilson) past.
‘It was funny that Fat Amy chose that name, but is there more? Where did she come from?’ Anna tells EW.
‘It’s been fun to follow those rabbit holes.’
What’s more, the film will introduce several new cast members including, John Lithgow and Australia’s very own multi-talented Ruby Rose.
But, in devastating news, male a cappella group, The Treblemakers will not be returning for the third film.
