Inside Ellen’s 60th birthday bash
Forget the Grammys, forget the Oscars – the event to be at was Ellen Degeneres’ celebpacked birthday! The talk-show queen’s 6oth bash read like a who’s who, with some major A-listers – we’re talking Jennifer Aniston, Kim Kardashian West, Jennifer Lawrence, Adele and Oprah Winfrey to name but a few – showing up to celebrate Ellen entering her seventh decade.
And in true diva style, the star – her actual birthday was on January 26 – discussed it all on TV, saying: ‘And I know some of you are thinking, “Wait a minute Ellen, your birthday was two weeks ago,”’ before adding: ‘Let me correct you. My birthday started two weeks ago.’
The drawn-out celebration, which has seen stars such as Michelle Obama and Sofia Vergara recently stopping by her show, was capped off with the most OTT party on February 10.
The event, which was held at Hollywood’s hip The Lot studios – featured a photo booth so fans were able to take a sneak peek inside the glam party.
Jennifer and Olivia Munn made a beeline for the booth, posing with Kathy Najimy.
Meanwhile, Kim and Kanye West took the night off from kids North, Saint and Chicago to attend the bash, thrown by spouse Portia de Rossi and Reese Witherspoon – who convinced the performers to sing for free! It was a clever move, said Ellen: ‘Don’t hire a band. Invite all your musician friends.’
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin proved they’re still Hollywood’s friendliest exes, both bringing their beaus.
Amy Schumer appeared to confirm her romance with chef Chris Fischer by sharing a pic of the pair kissing.
Fellow talk-show mogul Oprah was also there, and Ellen was later seen getting down with actress Melissa Mccarthy to performances from Pink, Melissa Etheridge, P. Diddy, French Montana and Pharrell Williams.
‘You put on the most amazing party,’ Ellen later told Portia on her TV show. ‘It’s just a party I’ll never forget.’
