REALLY KILL HIS WIFE?

A’S MOST HATED HUSBAND

interesting results. Every test performed showed the boat becoming submerged and sinking – and/or Scott being thrown from the sinking boat – when attempting to flip a body over the side.

Even the boat’s manufacturer stated that it would be impossible to have over 240kg on one side of the boat – Scott’s weight, the weight of Laci’s pregnant body and the multiple anchors police claim Scott used to keep the body submerged – without it tipping.

There was also no forensic evidence linking Scott to the crime, with no trace or blood evidence found at Scott’s home, boat or work – even though Laci had been dismembered.

WHERE THE BODIES WERE FOUND

Police have come under scrutiny for publicising the exact location where Scott went fishing on December 24, the day they believed he dumped Laci’s body.

Authorities asked for people who may have seen Scott fishing to come forward – before the bodies were found – showing a precise map.

Legal experts believe that may have given the real perpetrators opportunity to dump Laci’s remains in the exact area where Scott was, implicating him in the crime.

For four months until the bodies were found, the FBI and navy searched the shallow San Francisco Bay waters for 26 days, using sonar equipment, a robotic vehicle to drive along the floor of the water, and dogs trained to detect the smell of gasses from bodies. They found nothing. Yet soon after police showed an exact map with Scott’s fishing location, the bodies turned up.

Jurors later stated that the fact that the bodies were found where Scott went fishing was the most crucial part of the case.

WAS SHE KILLED BY BURGLARS?

A house across the road from where Scott and Laci lived was burgled on the day Laci disappeared.

Lieutenant Aponte, who worked in a California prison, told police that he heard a phone conversation where a prisoner from Modesto claimed Laci had confronted the burglars involved – leading to suggestions they were responsible for her death.

Even though the house had, in fact, been robbed and other witnesses claimed to have seen Laci arguing with two men before being forced into a van, the police never followed up on this lead from Aponte.

SATANIC SERIAL KILLER

One of the most bizarre claims from the trial was Scott’s defence team’s suggestion of a satanic serial killer.

Five months after Laci was murdered, another heavily pregnant woman was kidnapped and murdered – her body was also found in San Francisco Bay. Both women were taken on days that have satanic significance.

Another witness claimed, when she was heavily pregnant and living in Modesto at the same time, that she too was the subject of a kidnapping attempt by two men.

A coincidence – or the work of a serial killer?

He was left heartbroken after failing to win Georgia Love’s heart on The Bachelorette in 2016.

But now, rumours are swirling that Perth-based Cameron Cranely is set to become this year’s Bachelor after he was papped trying on swanky suits and renewing his passport – a sure-fire giveaway that he’s gearing up for the next season of the reality dating show.

Speaking about Cam back in January – after New Idea exclusively revealed the story – former Bachelor star Matty J gushed: ‘He would be an amazing Bachelor!

‘I can’t believe he’s still single. I’d be more than willing to give him a few pointers before he goes into filming.’ And while the hunky fireman might finally have a shot at love, insiders pray the ‘curse of Western Australia’ doesn’t strike again – leaving Cam a broken man, much like former west coasters Blake Garvey and Richie Strahan. Both the Perth-based former Bachelors have seen their lives slowly crumble since appearing on the show, while in comparison, east coast bachies have seen their love lives and careers skyrocket since taking on the reality TV show role.

‘Love rat’ Blake famously proposed to Sam Frost in 2014, only to change his mind and profess his love for runner-up Louise Pillidge – with the pair going separate ways in 2016.

The experience seemed to scar the 35-year-old, who has shunned media completely, deleting all his social media accounts and, according to insiders, spending most of his time with his mum.

New Idea sources have discovered that it’s been quite a fall from grace for Blake. Not only has he recently moved home with his mother Andrea into the Perth suburb of Hamersley, but the deep-voiced star is driving the same car as when he was in The Bachelor four years ago, has left his job at a prestigious real estate agency and is now selling ‘land and house packages’ to low-income families on the outskirts of Perth, and – bizarrely – has a Cabbage Patch Doll collection.

It’s a similar story of tragedy for poor Richie too.

The rope technician suffered humiliation when he was dumped by Alex Nation last year, only for her to pursue a relationship with Melbourne chef Maegan Luxa.

Recent enquiries by New Idea sources reveal the 32-year-old has sold his rundown property near Perth Airport and is now renting with his sister instead.

It would appear the reality star has found it difficult to hold down work since Alex left him, with even his modelling agent, Chadwick, quietly dumping him at the end of 2017.

The misfortunes of the west coast boys are in stark contrast to the success of those on the eastern side of the country.

Original star Tim Robards is set to marry chosen love Anna Heinrich, and has seen his fitness guide The Robards Method go from strength to strength.

Similarly, Sam Wood has just welcomed a baby girl with Bachelor winner Snezana Markoski and is still running his hugely successful 28 by Sam Wood fitness regime.

Meanwhile, last year’s Bachelor star Matty J is still loved-up with Laura Byrne and has recently revealed that he’s set to join Network Ten’s The Living Room as a presenter.

Let’s hope Cam can break the curse – instead of breaking his heart – once and for all.
