THE TRUTH ABOUT OUR LOVE
As Summer Bay’s hottest new couple, Sam Frost and Tim Franklin, playfully make fun of each other, it’s easy to see why their on-screen chemistry sizzles with heat.
Riding around on a tandem bike for New Idea’s exclusive photoshoot, the on-screen lovers can’t stop laughing.
‘Look, I’m riding with one hand,’ Sam yells back to Tim, laughing with her trademark snort.
Sam and Tim both started filming Home And Away in August last year, with characters Jasmine and Colby their first full-time TV acting roles.
‘We became really good friends, really quickly,’ Sam tells New Idea.
But, recalling their first meeting, the 29-year-old blonde beauty remembers how it wasn’t always so easy-going between the pair.
‘We had that weird scene and I was with Ada and that was the first time I met you,’ Sam says to Tim.
‘I remember thinking: “We’re going to be hooking up soon, that’s weird.”’
Laughing, Tim, 27, agrees, saying he was ‘terrified’ to start work on the iconic drama.
‘I was too nervous to really register the first time we met,’ he admits.
‘But once we started working together and finding our feet, it was so good. You were my first on-screen kiss!’
Luckily for Gold Coast-born Tim, former Bachelorette Sam has had a lot of practice at showing affection in front of the cameras.
‘She’s had so much more on-screen kissing than I have! I’m one of many in a long line,’ Tim jokes.
Sam quips: ‘Mate, take a ticket and jump in line! I had two seasons of The Bachelor and Bachelorette – I was warmed up!
‘To be perfectly honest, I actually do like that I’ve had that experience,’ she continues.
‘I do make a lot of jokes about it, but it’s easier to be intimate with someone in front of a whole group of production staff.’
How do Sam and Tim’s real-life partners feel about it?
‘I actually think it’s alright,’ Sam says.
‘You’d met him before so that made it easier.’
Tim adds, laughing: ‘All in a day’s work!’
