FIND YOUR BLISS IN BALI
NEW TRAVEL
When the most stressful part of your day is choosing a time to schedule in your complimentary 90-minute massage, you know you’re living the dream.
Welcome to Bliss Sanctuary, the perfect place for busy mums or hard-working women, looking for somewhere that pampering is enforced and relaxation is compulsory!
The second I walk through the wooden double doors, I’m met with a fresh juice, hot towel and a hug from my hostess, Ayu, who has booked me in for a Balinese massage at 5pm.
That’s right, at Bliss you have your very own hostess to help plan your days, book your private driver, schedule beauty treatments and ensure you live your very-best life in this slice of heaven.
Halfway between a health retreat and luxury getaway, you can tailor your holiday to your interests and needs, so this isn’t just for the health freaks out there! Don’t fret, this isn’t an ‘alcohol-free’ situation either. While booze isn’t for sale at the sanctuary, you are welcome to bring your own and leave it in the communal fridge.
CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE Among the six of us residing in the sprawling villa during my six-night stay, everyone was looking for a different type of holiday. Some were working out twice a day, going for colonics and taking part in the in-house yoga, while others were happy to bob around in the pool and see a healer or two each day.
For me, it was all about de-stressing and having a proper holiday, so I mixed up days of doing nothing by the pool with bike riding, sightseeing and beach visits.
The newly-renovated sanctuary is based in the new hipster hangout of Canguu, an up and coming area similar to trendy Seminyak, but minus the crowds. For those wanting to be closer to the action, there is a Seminyak sanctuary, and construction has started on one in Ubud, due to open next year.
FEEL AT HOME Believe it or not, the best things about Bliss aren’t the superb location or endless massages, it’s how at home you feel. Being women-only, with no couples and no kids allowed, the sanctuary is designed to make travelling on your own less isolating.
While that doesn’t mean you and a group of girlfriends can’t book out the sanctuary for a week away, ladies travelling on their own can feel at home without being alone – and you can feel totally comfortable showing your lumps and bumps.
