‘Some mornings can be a real struggle!’ says the mum-of-four. ‘Comfortable jeans, sneakers and a jacket are a good go-to.’
The key to a flawless wardrobe, according to Bec, is to choose classic, good-quality pieces and focus on block colours you can liven up with bold accessories.
Bec took some time out of her busy schedule to share her fashion tips and help us combat the winter chill in style... What do you enjoy most about winter dressing? I love layering! During winter, the temperature in Melbourne really drops, so I enjoy rugging up in a coat. I also really like structured tailoring and trench coats – particularly in bright colours! As the temperature starts to plumit what trends are you looking forward to wearing? I’m loving that the sport-luxe trend is carrying through to winter. It’s such a versatile trend and you can really have fun with it by keeping it casual during the day, but dressing it up in the evening with heels. What is your must-have item for winter? A beautiful leather jacket! Leather jackets are such an investment piece and by purchasing a classic cut, I promise you will get years of wear from it. How do you get value for money when it comes to shopping for your wardrobe? The key is to choose classic, quality pieces, rather than trend-focused items that you’ll only wear once. I work with the clothes I already have and buy additional quality, affordable pieces to add to the mix. In terms of colours – I focus on clothes in block colours that I can then pair with bold accessories. How do you negotiate the red carpet in the depths of winter? Winter red carpets are tricky, as you don’t want to hide your beautiful outfit under a big coat! I’ll often walk the red carpet in my dress, but throw on a classic cut jacket afterwards.
