Look out Amal! George and Julia are closer than ever.
JULIA AND GEORGE ARE CLOSER THAN EVER
Mega movie buddies George Clooney and Julia Roberts have always been known for their offscreen chemistry, flirting up a storm ever since they met each other back in 2000 on the set of Ocean’s Eleven.
Now, 18 years later, the pair remain as thick as thieves – which has raised many eyebrows as to how strong their bond really is!
The double act have never shied away from speaking about their close relationship.
‘What a relief we’re not Hollywood friends. Thank God we really do like each other, or we’d be in hell,’ Julia, 50, once confessed about her co-star.
And George, 57, previously gushed: ‘We’ve been really good friends for a really long time and I just adore her.’
In 2013 at the BAFTA Awards, George fawned over Julia again saying: ‘It’s been such a pleasure to watch the woman you have become. It’s very hard for me to be just straight nice because she’ll get me later. But [she is] just an amazing mother, an amazing wife and a great, great friend. It’s really an honour to have her here.’
Julia’s kids also love George and have affectionately named him ‘George Looney’, and he often refers to them as ‘monsters’.
‘She stayed at my house in Italy when she was first pregnant. She brought all those monsters [twins Hazel and Phinnaeus] back to the house when they were actual human beings and we’ve had a blast with them,’ George said.
But friendship aside, Julia has always had a thing for George. In fact, reports surfaced a few years back that her relationship with the handsome, grey-haired hunk made his wife Amal, 40, jealous. Insiders saw a spark between the pair, with one source claiming it was ‘obvious they go way back and they have lots of in jokes’.
But whatever gossip has surfaced, the pair insist they get on famously with their other halves too.
‘Danny [Moder] and I are great friends and love each other. What’s really fun is it’s really
like a family,’ George said.
‘It makes it easy,’ Julia added. ‘What he’s saying is we’ve just stitched our lives closer together. All these people that come into our lives – my husband, my children, his wife [Amal Clooney]. We just keep stitching our lives closer together.’
Worryingly though, reports have since surfaced that Danny and Julia’s marriage is hanging by a thread, with rumours of divorce looming.
An insider told Life & Style recently that Julia and Danny are ‘constantly quarrelling’ and that ‘their 15-year marriage is on the rocks, and they could even split’.
Could her relationship with George be the root cause?
The pair were joined at the hip once again at the 46th AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute last week, where Julia presented George with a Lifetime Achievement Award. No doubt they were showering each other with compliments as usual!
Meanwhile, let’s just hope that Amal and Danny don’t get too jealous.
