SHILOH’S DIVORCE DIARY
It was the moment Angelina Jolie has been dreading since she filed for divorce from Brad Pitt in 2016 – the courts confirming her ex is one step closer to getting full custody of their six children.
And in a move that will likely send Angelina over the edge, if Brad presses for and did gain custody, and rekindled any relationship with Jennifer Aniston, it could include them bringing up his children together – full-time.
But perhaps more shockingly, New Idea has learned that the couple’s daughter Shiloh’s diary may have influenced the latest twist in the ongoing divorce drama. The 12-year-old has been keeping a private diary, which records all of Angelina’s family secrets.
‘Shiloh started keeping a diary of everything that is going on with Ange since the split. It’s also come in handy with talking to her dad so he has insight into their home lives too,’ an insider reveals.
While it may not be the diary that prompted the new courtissued order, it seems Angelina is being told to stop restricting Brad’s access to their kids.
In the sensational court documents, the Superior Court of Los Angeles County issued a series of orders that Angelina must follow or risk losing primary physical custody.
These include confirming how long Brad – the kids’ favourite parent – can spend with his children in the coming months. Others are: Angelina can’t be present during these meetings, the kids must have phones Brad can contact them on at any time, and Angelina isn’t allowed to monitor their communications.
Angelina was quick to hit back with a statement released to US Weekly, slamming these court revelations as ‘misleading’ and ‘not in the best interests of the children’. She even hinted at knowing who was behind the leak, adding: ‘It’s deplorable that someone, for their own selfish reasons, leaked selective portions of the confidential and sealed court record to create an inaccurate and unfair picture of what is really happening.’
Even so, the court documents stated ‘not having a relationship with their father’ would be ‘harmful’ for the Jolie-pitt children – Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, nine – and confirms they are ‘safe with their father’.
Even more eye-opening is the court’s suggestion that Angelina is alienating Brad from their kids. She’s been told if ‘the minor children remain closed down to their father’ the court could order that primary physical custody be switched to Brad.
And as far as Brad’s concerned, that means he’s won.
‘Brad’s really confident it’s just a matter of time before he’s awarded primary custody,’ says the insider. ‘He doesn’t believe Ange will stick to the new court rules.’
And even if she does, the information from Shiloh’s diary could ensure Angelina is thwarted.
The mini-me tomboy has always been a Daddy’s girl, while her relationship with Angelina has been challenging over the past few years. Last August, Radar Online even reported Shiloh was making desperate secret late-night calls to Brad after being unable to see him alone for nearly a year. But although she begged Angelina for more visitations, her mum always refused.
Then in April, as New Idea reported, Angelina’s worst nightmare came true: Shiloh began bonding with Jennifer, 49, who had reportedly rekindled her relationship with Brad. Already devastated that Brad was back with his ex, knowing Jennifer got on so well with Shiloh – and that her other five children adored Jen – caused Angelina even more anguish. Brad’s rumoured romance with academic Neri Oxman just gave the 43-year-old more reason to rage.
Now Jennifer is said to be over the moon that her relationship with Brad can also include his children. She’s always relished the idea of being a step-mum and, now if they got back together, she’d be looking after the kids – and her happy future looks set.
Meanwhile, Angelina’s blinkered response to her daughter’s divorce devastation has backfired in a big way.
‘Shiloh and Brad have a really special bond and she’s been instrumental in helping him understand what the kids are going through with Ange,’ reveals our source.
Shiloh even told Brad, 54, that Angelina checks their phones and intercepts texts, and that they’re nervous about even mentioning his name to her. After Shiloh’s divorce diary helped Brad win this battle, he’s determined to use it again.
But for the meantime, a newly confident Brad is telling friends that full-time custody is just a formality.
Adds the source: ‘Ange has been thumbing her nose at Brad and he’s glad she’s been pulled into line. He’s telling friends the kids will be his by Christmas.’
