EUGENIE COPIES MEGHAN’S WEDDING
Princess Eugenie has announced her wedding plans and it seems she’s copied the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – down to every last tiny detail!
Last week, Eugenie and her fiance Jack Brooksbank announced they’d invite 1200 members of the public to their wedding, just as Harry and Meghan did for their wedding in May, when they hand-picked the same number of people who had served in their communities and shown strong leadership.
The couple also mirror the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by inviting representatives from their chosen charities, together with members of the local Windsor community.
And, not only is the ceremony in the same chapel at Windsor Castle, but there will also be a carriage ride afterwards, just as Meghan and Harry had. It’s also rumoured the couple will be inviting similar celebrities, including the Beckham clan. Meghan knows that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but she can’t help feeling a little shocked. And some may argue that the formula may be a winning one so why change it, but there are other cues that the brideto-be is clearly emulating her new cousin. Notably, Eugenie has been attending more official events, attempting to raise her profile to equal that of Meghan’s, and she’s also had a style overhaul. Recent appearances have seen the princess ditch her frumpy frocks for more elegant attire similar to Meghan’s.
Indeed, according to experts, it’s likely that Eugenie will take style cues from Meghan on her big day, with her hair in an updo.
‘Taking inspiration from Meghan, the low chignon bun would be an elegant and romantic look for Eugenie. To create the fullness and thickness of Meghan’s bun, Eugenie could add hair extensions,’ Mathew
Soobroy, principal stylist at Charles Worthington salons told the Daily Express. ‘Another big wedding trend this season has been the headband, as worn by Meghan, as well as jewelled clips,’ he added.
As for the dress, experts say Eugenie may attempt to upstage Meghan. ‘I think we will see something more contemporary and fashion-forward than Meghan’s dress choices and I’d imagine this will carry forward to the bridesmaids too and how she chooses to style her besties,’ Kate Beavis, from Magpie Wedding told the publication.
