ITALIAN WEDDING ESCAPE!

-

They’re just weeks away from walking down the aisle, but despite lastminute preparations for the upcoming nuptials at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, Princess Eugenie and fiance Jack Brooksbank still squeezed in a holiday ahead of their big day on October 12.

The loved-up pair were seen enjoying the sights on a romantic trip to Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

The 28-year-old princess was snapped lovingly feeding Jack, 32, a mouthful of pasta. But while Jack was happy to chow down on carbs, it looks as though Eugenie’s in full diet mode ahead of her fairytale day. Looking chic in a simple blue shirt, black shorts and stylish trilby, she showed off her slimmer figure as she spent a lazy day enjoying a boat tour. Later, she showcased her trim waist and toned arms in a bikini.

It’s a well-earned break for Eugenie, who’s had a busy couple of weeks hosting a UN conference with Princess Beatrice – as well as coming under fire for her upcoming ‘lavish’ wedding.

Last week the philanthropic royal travelled to New York’s UN headquarters with Bea for her Anti-slavery Collective initiative she launched in April.

She took to Instagram, saying: ‘It was such an honour to speak @nexusglobalnetwork at the @unitednations about @the_anti_slavery_collective. An initiative I co-founded last year to combat modern day slavery. “You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know” William Wilberforce.’

Eugenie’s UN visit follows a tumultuous few days. A Daily Mail article questioned why she was being granted such a lavish wedding, as she is only ninth in line to the throne. Mum Sarah Ferguson called the harsh write-up ‘negative and tantamount to bullying’.

As well as the wedding backlash, she and sister Bea have opened up about mockery and criticism. They admitted people ‘beating’ them up had taken its toll and even reduced them to tears.

‘There was a horrible article... written about Beatrice and she got really upset,’ Eugenie told Vogue. Beatrice added: ‘We are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives... doing all of this in the public eye.’

With so much drama, it’s no wonder Eugenie needs a break...
