RED-HOT ROMANCES
Love claims centre stage in our favourite coastal town this week, as the lives of four residents take a romantic turn.
In must-see scenes, Willow (Sarah Roberts) and Justin (James Stewart) finally give in to their feelings for each other. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Bay things are heating up for Jasmine (Sam Frost) and Robbo (Jake Ryan).
As fans will know, the usually gruff Robbo has been struggling to hide his developing attraction to Jasmine.
Since he found himself last week opening up to Jasmine over dinner at Salt, Robbo can’t stop thinking about the bubbly nurse – no matter how much he tries.
‘He’s been acting a bit weird around Jasmine ever since their night out, because he’s trying his best to avoid her,’ says Jake. ‘He didn’t really want to explore his feelings for Jasmine and go down that path, because he didn’t think they were reciprocal.’
This week, Robbo is thrilled when his verbal offer to buy the local gym is accepted.
‘Jasmine planted the seed for him to consider this new challenge, and he’s really grateful to her for giving him the courage to take it on,’ says Jake.
Caught up in a celebratory mood, Robbo can’t get Jasmine off his mind.
‘He’s started to feel very strongly for Jasmine,’ says Jake.
Meanwhile, Jasmine remains convinced she only has platonic feelings for Robbo. But is she tricking herself ?
As for Jake, he’s welcomed the opportunity to show a more vulnerable Robbo.
‘Jasmine brings out a much softer side of him that he probably didn’t think was even in him,’ he says, adding: ‘And Sam and I have been really good mates since she started on the show, so it’s good fun to work with a friend.’
And romance is also very much on the agenda for Willow and Justin.
The father-of-one Justin recently dropped a bombshell on Willow – he’s madly in love with her – and she has held back from telling the mechanic exactly how she feels.
Still doing everything she can to regain the trust of the townsfolk, the recovering gambling addict has been focused on getting her life back on track. And now she’s finally ready to make it official with Justin!
‘She has had some tough decisions to make,’ says Sarah.
‘It’s been challenging at times to film some of these very dramatic scenes, but the sensitivity also came easily. I’ve been playing Willow for a little over a year now and developing relationships between other characters on the show.’
Indeed, when Dean (Patrick O’connor) urges Willow to come clean with Justin about her true feelings, she summons the courage to do just that.
