‘I TRAIN FOR HOURS EVERY DAY’
THE LITTLE BIG SHOT REVEALS WHAT IT TAKES TO BE NUMBER ONE!
It’s pretty hard to imagine a 10-yearold twirling on their head and nailing some of the most difficult breakdance moves. But, that’s exactly what Jeffrey Dunne does, and he is ready to show off his moves on Little Big Shots. Jeffrey is not only ranked number one champion in Australia for under 13s breakdancing, but he has 29.1k followers on Instagram, and dreams of becoming a dancer on the Red Bull BC One breaking team. But, this Little Big Shot reveals that it’s not easy to become number one. ‘I practise my breakdancing for two hours every day,’ he tells New Idea. ‘But I also have lessons on top of that.’
Not only does he train a lot, his mum also makes him green smoothies to provide him with all the energy he needs. ‘I have them every single day in the morning,’ he says.
Jeffrey began dancing when he was only three years old and has already mastered moves that can take up to a year to perfect. ‘My favourite breakdance moves are head spins and halos and windmills,’ he reveals. ‘But, I was scared the first time I tried a headstand.’
Now, this Little Big Shot has gone on to represent Australia in Singapore in the Under 16s category and is currently ranked number one champion in Australia in the Under 13s category. But he doesn’t let it go to his head.
‘I like [the title] a lot but I like to remain humble,’ he says. ‘I have to keep competing all year to do it again.’
While Jeffrey’s parents and sister also love dancing, he reveals that breakdancing doesn’t run in the family.
‘My family likes to dance together, but my mum and dad are not so good,’ he admits. ‘But they make me laugh a lot.’
