JEN SAVES SHILOH
With the news that his bitter divorce battle with Angelina Jolie has gone from nasty to downright ugly, Brad Pitt is seeking solace in a romantic trip to Italy with Jennifer Aniston... and he’s bringing along his daughter Shiloh, too!
Following the announcement that Ange has hired a new lawyer in a desperate bid to win custody of the pair’s six children – Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12 and twins Vivienne and Knox, 10 – New Idea has learned that Brad is enjoying a trip to Lake Como with his daughter and rekindled flame, Jen – who is desperate to escape her own divorce dramas with ex, Justin Theroux.
According to sources, Brad’s pal George Clooney has lent them his Lake Como mansion, and now that Jennifer has wrapped up filming the upcoming Netflix comedy Murder Mystery, she’s free to join Brad and Shiloh in what is a much-needed break for the tween. Those close to the couple say that out of the six Jolie-pitt kids, sensitive Shiloh has been the most affected by the ongoing divorce battle. Brad and Jen are desperate to save Shiloh from any further stress and see a European break as the perfect opportunity to escape.
‘Jen just finished filming in Italy, so Brad has taken Shiloh there for some much needed time away,’ spills an insider. ‘They’re staying at George’s place in Lake Como – he’s been really supportive of Brad and Jen reconnecting again, and was only too happy to offer his home to them.
‘Brad and Jen love that they can just spend some quality time, just the three of them, in Italy, thousands of miles from LA – and Angelina – to escape the feuds. They’ve mostly been staying on the grounds of George’s estate, but also doing a little bit of sightseeing. It’s been good for Shiloh to get out and about, have some fun with Brad, and particularly Jen, after all the recent stress.’
Earlier this month, Ange launched a blistering attack against Brad, accusing him of being a ‘deadbeat dad’ and not fulfilling his financial duties towards their children. It was also announced that the couple, who split in September 2016, had reached an interim custody arrangement, meaning they have agreed on temporary custody issues for one month.
However, last week news broke that Ange had fired divorce attorney Laura Wasser in favour of child custody expert Samantha Bley Dejean. ‘Angelina has decided to change counsel to Samantha Bley Dejean, as Samantha’s [area of] expertise is the protection and best interest of children,’ a spokesperson said. ‘Angelina appreciates Laura’s cooperation in transitioning the case over the past several weeks.’
However, despite Angelina’s claim that she ‘remains focused on healing her family,’ her daughter Shiloh has been feeling increasingly lonely and lost and is turning to Jen for support.

‘Shiloh has been spending more and more time with Jen, just because she’s so desperate to get away from all the ugliness at home,’ reveals another source. ‘With Brad and Ange’s split still so nasty, Jen’s house in LA has become a safe harbour for Shiloh. She doesn’t have to hear any of the angry phone calls with lawyers or all the passive aggressive behaviour. She doesn’t have to walk on eggshells.’ This is exactly why Brad is overjoyed that Shiloh wanted to join him on his trip to Italy with Jen.
‘Jen and Shiloh have really built up an amazing friendship and Brad knows that it would be really good for her to get away from all the divorce bitterness at home,’ spills the source. ‘He knows that Jen is just the right person for Shiloh to be around at the moment – she’s so fun, so spontaneous – there’s no drama with her. And the fact that she watched her parents divorce, and had a tumultuous relationship with her own mother, means she can really relate to what Shiloh is going through with the split and Angelina.’
