DEANNA, 28

Former competitive swimmer Deanna is not afraid of friendly competition, but can she overcome her past to let herself get close to Nick? The dental nurse from Adelaide, who was previously engaged, admits to New Idea she’s been hurt in the past. ‘Cheating and lack of commitment are deal breakers. My last relationship ended six months ago because he had commitment issues,’ she confesses. ‘It broke my heart.’

With their careers as athletes connecting them, does this give Deanna the competitive edge over the other girls? Either way her family will be cheering her on. ‘They are nervous, but excited for me,’ she reveals.

BRITTNEY, 25

Describing her perfect partner as someone who enjoys football and beer, on paper, 25-year-old housing officer Brittney seems like a perfect match for Nick. Before

The Bachelor, the Sydney local had a rough trot. ‘I got catfished by someone. They spoke in the third person!’ Above all, Brittney insists she’s a traditional girl, looking for love. ‘I’m very family orientated,’ she says. ‘I’d love to get married under a big tree in a rustic setting and in 10 years be surrounded by my children as well.’ While she may not have any tricks to turn Nick’s head, she did reveal her parents gave her some sound advice. ‘They said “Don’t drink too much,”’ she says laughing.

JAMIE-LEE, 27

Venue manager Jamie-lee is set to cause some trouble when she descends on the mansion this week. With a past in topless modelling, as well as running a risque Tumblr site, it’s clear this newcomer is not shy. ‘I’m looking for someone spiritual and open-minded,’ Jamie-lee tells New Idea. ‘I could never date a racist or someone that did not support same-sex marriage.’

An open bisexual, Jamie-lee reveals the most romantic thing that ever happened to her was with her ex-girlfriend. ‘My ex-girlfriend cleaned my house and made me dinner after I worked a 16-hour shift, and left little notes about what she loved about me all around my house.’
