BACHELOR SECRETS EXPOSED
It was the most dramatic finale in Bachelor history. Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins fought back tears as he dumped his final two ladies – Brittany and Sophie – on national TV last week, leaving fans shocked and disappointed.
But while Nick, 30, may not have found The One on the reality show, New Idea can reveal the handsome larrikin is head-over-heels in love.
According to insiders, now that the dust has settled, Nick and fourth runner-up Cass, who Nick dated prior to the show, have rekindled their romance – but are desperate to keep it a secret, fearing public backlash.
“They kept hooking up after the show finished,” dishes our source, adding that Nick realised he’d made a mistake by sending home Cass, 23, as soon as Brooke walked out and he only had Brittany and Sophie left standing.
“There’s no denying that Cass and Nick had a good connection and a lot of chemistry. He hated that he’d let her go, so he decided to walk away from both women and chase a future with Cass.”
The pair, who both spent time overseas ahead of the finale in attempt to avoid the media, are said to be already talking about getting married and starting a family.
“A lot of fans thought Nick and Cass should’ve wound up together and their
dream came true,” adds our insider.
And it looks like there may even be a baby in the mix!
“Nick heard rumours that Cass thought she might be pregnant on the day of the finale and it clouded his decision,” says our source. “He found himself wanting a baby and wanting more with her, and that’s what cemented his decision.”
While hearts broke across the nation for Brittany and Sophie, our insider says the ex-wallaby, who’s just released a book titled Guide to Life, was “chuffed” once filming ended so he and Cass could reunite.
“The morning after the finale, Nick rang his publisher [Pan Macmillan Australia] to vent,” our source says. “He was ropable and hated the Bachelor experience. So much so that Nick’s book was originally titled Guide to Life and Love but Pan Mac re-did the cover once they realised he hadn’t found love on the show, which is why he booked a trip to Kokoda to escape.”
Adding insult to injury, fans have questioned Nick’s real motives for doing the show, as he continues to spruik brands including Tradie Workwear, Iron Jack Beer, Amarok V6, Oakley and Gopro on social media.
“I find you quite fake,” one Instagram fan wrote. “You’re too busy promoting and making money.”
