FERGIE’S BIZARRE ROYAL WEDDING MELTDOWN

FERGIE RUINS

-

Princess Eugenie may have appeared calm and serene on the surface, but behind the scenes her wedding day had turned into a right royal disaster.

From a blow-out, billiondollar budget, a MIA groom and warring family members, Eugenie’s perfect day was in serious jeopardy of falling apart.

Just days before the wedding, the 28-year-old princess had been dealing with her meddling mother, Sarah Ferguson, with the disgraced duchess seemingly determined to make Eugenie’s day all about herself.

“Fergie wanted to use Eugenie’s big day to see her celebrity star rise once again,” reveals New Idea’s exclusive royal source.

“She was plotting from the moment Jack and Eugenie announced their engagement to make

this wedding as much about her return to the royal fold as anything else. But instead of playing the quiet, happy mother-of-the bride – she went a little crazy at the reception. Not surprisingly, she had too much Champagne and started telling all the senior royals exactly what she thought of them.”

According to insiders, a tipsy Fergie was badmouthing Charles for everything he’s done to her girls – as well as Diana. And even let loose on Prince Philip.

“At one point Eugenie had to take her mum to the side and beg her to stop drinking and making a scene, telling her that she was ruining the wedding.

“But to be honest, no-one was surprised that Fergie lost control at the reception and it was all that anyone was talking about.”

Fergie wasn’t Eugenie’s only worry. As the princess was seen caressing her stomach recently, sparking rumours of pregnancy, word got out that her fiance,

Jack Brooksbank, had gone missing. “Jack literally went missing for 16 hours; no-one knew where he was,” says an insider. “He’d been out celebrating his last night as a single man with several friends and had way too much tequila – eventually he disappeared from the club he was staying at and left his phone there.”

His friends had no way of contacting him and were worried.

“He was MIA right up until 7am on the day of the wedding and managed to call someone to pick him up,” the source reveals.

“He’d been with a friend and had drunk too much, simply sleeping through all the panic.

“He had no idea that everyone was so worried and was awfully embarrassed.”
