KAK:‘ I’M MOVING TO TODAY!’

AFTER A WEEK FROM HELL, THE TV VETERAN WANTS OUT!

-

The heated on-air argument with Yumi Stynes which played out last week was the final straw for Studio 10 co-host Kerri-anne Kennerley. In a fiery debate concerning the “Invasion Day” protests, Yumi accused Kerri-anne of being racist. All hell broke loose, leaving Kerri-anne upset with how it played out in the media. And now she wants out. “KAK is not happy with Ten,” spills our well-placed insider. “She couldn’t believe they had Yumi on to get a headline, as she is famous for it. After the stoush, she told friends ‘if the network doesn’t apologise, I am walking’.” “She also wasn’t happy she had to organise her own publicity to help sort out the situation. She had to call on pals Ben Fordham and Kyle and Jackie O so the public could hear her side of the story,” the insider adds.

According to the source, Kerri-anne felt the network abandoned her and she demanded a forum, as she believed they weren’t going to do anything. Kerri-anne also thought Sarah Harris was trying to speak and apologise for her, which is why she snapped at Sarah live on air and basically told her to butt out!

“The Yumi stoush is just the top of the iceberg with her relationship with Studio 10,” the source continued.

In fact, New Idea understands Kerri-anne has her sights set on the Today show. With ratings continuing to plummet, KerriAnne thinks she is just what the breakfast show needs to survive.

“KAK is fed up with Studio 10 and thinks she’s wasted talent, so she’s really making a push to be the new Today host and she’s not giving up,” says a source.

“She thinks she’d be the perfect addition – she has the big personality and dynamics like Karl without all the scandal, she’s loved Australia-wide and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.

“She wants the Nine bosses to see her as a credible and outspoken TV host, and is thinking this has done it.

“By the end of 2019, KAK believes she’ll be on Today – and she’ll do whatever it takes.”
