LADIES’ NIGHT CAST REVEALED!

THESE WOMEN WILL BARE IT ALL FOR CHARITY!

- By Belinda Wanis

If you thought the lads who did The Real Full Monty last year were brave – look out because it’s the ladies turn. Eight well-known Australian personalities will be baring all to raise awareness for women’s health, in particular breast cancer. New Idea can reveal Simone Callahan, Georgie Parker, Lynne Mcgranger, Casey Donovan, Lisa Curry, Ella Hooper, Rachael Finch and Nadia Bartel are the eight bold ladies who have been chosen!

“HOPEFULLY, IT WILL HELP WOMEN TO BE MINDFUL AND TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES” – SIMONE

Home and Away star Georgie is rallying friends and co-stars to come together in aid of this good cause. “I hope the show manages to become a talking point about women’s health and wellbeing in general,” she tells New Idea. “How could you say no to a chance like this? It’s daunting, but any chance you have of bringing awareness to breast cancer is worth doing.”

For Georgie’s Home and Away co-star Lynne, it was even more personal than that. “My best friend Maudie, who lives in Perth, her daughter Nicky has battled breast cancer for the last nine years; we lost her a couple of weeks ago, just two days before her 49th birthday,” Lynne reveals.

“That being the case it was a no-brainer, I was always going to put my hand up and do what I could to further the cause of breast cancer awareness.”

Yoga enthusiast Simone, and former wife of cricketing legend Shane Warne, agrees. “If I can help spread awareness and inspire women to look after their wellbeing and go and get themselves checked I think it’s a good thing,” Simone tells New Idea. “Hopefully, it will help women to be mindful of their bodies and take care of themselves, especially as we get older.”

In charge of choreography, Todd Mckenney is back to get the women ready for their big moment, after whipping the men, which included Lisa’s son Jett Kenny and model Kris Smith, into shape for last year’s hit show.

With rehearsals in full swing, the women are thinking ahead to that one big night.

“I’m actually nervous about getting very emotional on the night of the performance,” Georgie reveals. “Evocative music, good people, and of course the reason behind the show, can bring up a lot of ‘stuff ’.”

But what will their families think of their “naked” ambition? “My kids are happy

I’m doing the show as they have had friends and family affected by breast cancer too, so they know it’s an important cause to spread the message about breast cancer awareness,” mum-ofthree Simone says.

Lynne agrees that those closest appreciate how important the cause is. “[My family] were very close to Nicky so they understand my reason for doing it,” Lynne says. “They think it’s wonderful.”

Georgie’s family also understand how important it is for her. “My family are thrilled,” she tells us.

“And will no doubt be in the front row!”
