CHECK OUT THESE CUTE ADOPTED PUPS ON INSTAGRAM

-

International Puppy Day on March 25 raises awareness of adoption. So, in honour of that, we take a look at five Insta-famous dogs who were rescued. Find more on adoption at Rspca.org.au.

@amospearce

Amos Pearce’s spotty nose makes him instantly memorable. The Catahoula-cross-beagle, who has around 12,800 followers on Instagram, is one of eight RSPCA Queensland Furbassadors. Strongwilled, fun-loving and energetic, Amos is helping to break the stigma attached to bull-type breeds.

@marniethedog

Seventeen years and Marnie’s still soldiering on! Adopted at age 11, this Shih tzu from New York is known for her head tilt and slight lean – the result of a brief bout of vestibular disease – but it hasn’t stopped her from becoming a star. Marnie now has 1.9 million devoted Instagram fans.

@tunameltsmyheart

You can’t help but giggle when you come across a picture of 8-year-old Tuna. With an exaggerated overbite and recessed jaw resulting in the gaudiest smile, the Chiweenie cutie teaches us that true beauty comes in all forms and you should embrace who you are. His two million fans agree!

@hamiltonpug

Found on the streets of Ohio, Hamilton moved to New York to live his best life. You can find this pampered pug strolling in Central Park, travelling in his owner’s handbag or sleeping to his heart’s content. His brother Rufus (also a pug) joins him – and 83,900 Insta-followers – on his journey, too.

@turboroo

Born without two front legs, Turboroo is now cheered on by nearly 300,000 Instagram followers. Back in 2016, aged 9 weeks, the Chihuahua pup found his feet thanks to a set of 3D-printed training wheels. The Indiana-based dog has inspired many who have overcome hardships in their lives.
