Tea or coffee? Both! Strong tea first thing in the morning and last thing at night, but flat white coffee through the day.

Wine or a cocktail? Hmm … tough one … I love a Margarita and a crisp white wine.

What’s your most requested meal at home from friends and family? Sticky Sriracha Chicken Wings, Garlic Prawn Linguine and my family love my Rich Chocolate Cake or Tiramisu. Biggest cooking disaster you’ve ever had? I once cooked a whole turkey with the plastic giblet bag still inside! What’s the one food you can never say no to? Hot chips with salt and tomato sauce.

Is there one food or ingredient you can’t stand? Yes, I’m not a fan of goat’s cheese.

What’s the first dish you remember cooking? It was a lemon cake with passionfruit icing. I used to trade off with my mum, she would sew for me and I would cook.

Tell us something about Barb or Mel that no-one knows ... Barb loves to wear beautiful earrings and jewellery, while in her spare time, Mel loves to watch Home and Away and has hardly ever missed an episode.

If you really want to impress someone, what do you cook? A seafood paella or a beautiful fresh piece of fish or green prawns, very simply cooked with chilli and lemon.

Is there a cheat dish you swear by? A rice cooker bacon and macaroni cheese. That’s unbeatable!

And finally, what’s your favourite recipe of all time? It would have to be this Wagon Wheel Slice as friends always ask me to bring it along and the kids love it. It’s so easy to make and there’s no baking involved.
