ME & MY PET

-

Former AFL player Adam Goodes and his wife Natalie Croker are certainly growing their brood with a baby on the way, but this isn’t the only addition to the family. The couple recently adopted a senior dog, Chance. Now, the pair are teaming up with Sydney Dogs and Cats Home to raise awareness of adopting senior dogs. Here, the couple tell us all about their pal …

OUR PET’S NAME IS …

Chance because we’d like to think we gave her a second chance.

WHERE WE GOT OUR PET …

We adopted Chance from the Sydney Dogs and Cats Home. We wanted to give a senior dog a loving life during their golden years. We also live in an apartment and thought it best to get a dog who has skipped the puppy phase.

WHAT OUR PET MEANS TO US …

Chance has made us into a little family in preparation for our baby. Life is just a little bit sweeter when you’re greeted by her each day.

OUR PET AND WE LOVE …

Morning walks along Bondi promenade are the best thing to do with Chance – great for our routine and fitness. Nap time with her on the couch is also quite enjoyable!

MY PET’S FUNNY HABIT IS …

Chance knows the sound of our cars so jumps up on the balcony to greet us when we get home. She wails with excitement, which is so sweet – the whole street would hear her, I’m sure.

MY PET’S SCARY TRIP TO THE VET …

Chance swallowed a cooked chicken bone on the street once and was quite unwell. She was sick in the car on the way to the vet but luckily no real harm was done. Please put your rubbish in the bin, good people of Bondi.

WILL WE GET ANOTHER PET?

When we have a yard we’ll definitely get another rescue. We will only ever adopt as there are so many great pets needing a new family.
