Nick Cummins MOVES IN ON THE BACHELORETTE!

-

He caused the biggest upset The Bachelor has ever seen with his shock decision to pick no winner in the show’s dramatic finale last year. However, Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins is set to return to the Network Ten franchise to shake things up yet again.

New Idea can now exclusively reveal that the former Rugby Union player will be joining this year’s season of The Bachelorette as an intruder, vying for Angie Kent’s heart. A source says the 31-year-old is single and ready to mingle – and redeem himself.

Despite describing his time as

Australia’s Bachelor in 2018 as “soul destroying”, Nick has apparently recovered from the controversy and is now willing to put everything on the line again to find his match. “Following the backlash Nick copped after his season [when he dumped both Brittany Hockley and Sophie Tieman], he feels it would be a great opportunity to rewrite the past and show Australia the real Nick,” a source dishes. “Coming back as a contestant will be a totally different experience than being the Bachelor. It’s a lot less pressure and hopefully a more relaxed environment where he can be himself this time.” Nick’s shock decision to return to the show may be a result of some recent reflection, having spent time travelling.

“Nick is in a much better place now than he was a year ago, but he feels he can’t move forward without righting his wrongs,” a source explains. “He’s reached out to a lot of the girls [from his season] but none of them want a bar of it, so he feels this is the only option left to clear his name

and show his true colours.”

While he’s currently in Europe, the source claims Nick will be flown back for filming. “It was important for him to clear his mind before filming so he’s mentally prepared and can really give it his all this time,” the source explained. And let’s hope he does just that because the athlete seems to be just Angie’s type!

“Nick and Angie are actually perfectly suited for each other,” another source reveals. “They both love to laugh and don’t take themselves too seriously – not to mention she was a huge fan of Nick during his time on The Bachelor so she will be thrilled when he walks in.”

While Angie was seen getting along well with this year’s Bachelor, astrophysicist Matt Agnew, at this year’s Logies, she has previously said of her ideal man: “They’ll have to have an epic sense of humour, not take themselves too seriously and also be true to themselves.”

The sentiment coincidently mirrors what Nick said when questioned about his decision to leave the show empty-handed: “Be honest and true to yourself.”

Sounds like Nick’s in with a good chance to win Angie’s heart! Let’s hope he can give audiences the fairytale ending they had hoped for last time.
