FAKE FULLNESS
HOW TO FAKE THICKER HAIR IN A FLASH
INGREDIENT FOCUS
1 “Lathering up your mane with Kakadu Plum Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s a gentle plant-based formula, which can help transform dry or damaged hair to look and feel fuller,” says Nader. This may also be a good ingredient to look out for if you’re a daily washer as the nourishing ingredients won’t dry out hair. Nader further explains the benefits of the Australian native are endless – the fruit is rich in vitamin C (providing hydration, making it less likely to break), it’s nutrient-rich and also “helps maintain the level of collagen and elastin, which is essential for healthy, glossy and lustrous hair”.
SERUM SOLUTION
2 “One of my biggest loves is using a serum,” says Nader, advising “only when your strands are damp, never apply on dry hair”. Why? “When the product is applied on damp strands, the cuticle absorbs far better,” which allows all the nutrients to work their magic. If you apply a serum on dry hair, Nader says, hair won’t absorb the product as well and this will result in your locks just appearing dirty and weighed down.
SEEK VOLUME
3 “For longer-lasting volume, I always recommend a few shorter layers within the interior of your haircut,” says Nader, adding, “If you have a bob or shoulderlength shape, ask your stylist for my top tip and you’ll notice a huge difference. And layers will also add ‘energy’ to your hairstyle to help it last longer.”
COLOUR IN
4 “When having your hair coloured, to avoid a lacklustre and dull look, ask your colourist for some ‘dimensional highlights’,” says Nader. “This basically means incorporating two to three different but complementary tones when highlighting rather than only applying one. This works such a treat with finer hair strands!”
