ROBBO SPIRALS OUT OF CONTROL
Having last week poured his heart out to Jasmine (Sam Frost), Robbo (Jake Ryan) made the decision to let his wife help him care for his newborn daughter, Grace. At last, it seemed, Robbo and Jasmine were back in a good place.
Or so Jasmine thought. For, as she is about to discover, that’s anything but the case!
In this week’s emotionally charged episodes, it quickly becomes clear that Robbo remains haunted by his horrific past. And with Grace’s mother Tori (Penny Mcnamee) still in a coma, Robbo’s sense of doom is rising.
Overreacting when Grace won’t stop crying, Robbo refuses to listen to his nurse wife when she tries to convince him the baby is not unwell.
Robbo has been under a lot of pressure causing him to unintentionally take it out on Jasmine.
Later, when he falls asleep and wakes to find Jasmine and Grace are not home, he is panic-stricken yet again.
Finding Jasmine at the park with Grace, a furious Robbo gives his shocked wife a piece of his mind for leaving the house without letting him know.
“I really felt for Jasmine here,” says Sam. “Once more, Robbo says some pretty harsh things and really snaps at her. It’s again not fair and it is really tough for Jas.”
The next day, still smarting from Robbo’s latest outburst, Jasmine once again calls her husband out for not trusting her and yelling at her.
And Jasmine’s portrayer Sam is firmly in her character’s corner. “I’m so pleased Jasmine does this – it’s what everyone should do when someone is treating them poorly and not communicating with them,” says Sam.
“Absolutely power to them for confronting the other person and saying, ‘Your behaviour is not acceptable, and I want to know why you are acting this way’.”
While Robbo at first shuts Jasmine down, instead focusing his attention on Grace, he later reassures his wife that he does trust her.
He also needs to remember, he says, that Jasmine and Grace are now safe.
But it’s not long before Robbo has begun to unravel again – this time when an unexpected guest arrives at the house.
Who is the visitor, and what does Robbo do?
