Angelina Jolie’s shock confession.

ANGELINA JOLIE ADMITS IT HAS BEEN A TOUGH YEAR

-

Angelina Jolie has had a challenging couple of years. With an acrimonious divorce finally behind her, the Hollywood actress has spoken about her secret struggles and how her six kids have helped her pull through.

“Anyone who is a parent knows there is a strength within you that grows when you just have to survive anything to be strong enough for them and you have to pull them through anything,” she told The Sun.

Angelina also spoke of how playing characters such as Maleficent have helped her realise her own strength.

“The last few years have not been the easiest. I have had my ups and downs. I haven’t felt very strong,” she added. “So there’s something when you are not feeling very strong where you push yourself and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to play these kind of characters that pull out every bit of strength and remind me that I can be strong. I guess

I am a little bit stronger.”

Her admissions come after she opened up about how she often feels judged as a mother and whether she is making the right choices for her children.

She told The Mirror that parenthood “isn’t easy,” and that a lot of mothers worry about if they are doing a good job, herself included.

“Even Maleficent can have trouble and worry whether or not she’s a good enough mum, and worry about what it means to be a mum,” she said.

“In her mind she has this idea, we probably all do ‒ I know I did before I had kids ‒ that to be a perfect mother you have to be a perfect person. And that’s not true – you have to just do your best and be willing to put your child before you”.

Angelina added: “She loves being a mum, and I do too. It’s my everything.”

The actress also reveals her children have turned their backs on fame and do not want to be actors. “Fame is not important to them and the centre to their lives in a way that is unhealthy. It is all fun,” she admits.

“Viv is still slightly upset with me that I put her as a princess [in Maleficent]. She said it’s going to take a while to live that one down. My kids do not want to be actors.”
