JASMINE & KARL’S NEWS

THE COUPLE HAVE CONFIRMED THE HAPPY NEWS TO THEIR FAMILIES

-

There has been growing speculation that Karl Stefanovic and wife Jasmine Yarbrough are expecting their first child together. And now sources have confirmed to New Idea the couple are indeed pregnant and have begun sharing the exciting news with friends and family.

“Jasmine is at the 12-week mark and she and Karl have just started telling family members and close friends the happy news,” the insider revealed. “They’re really excited to begin this new chapter of their life and to start a family of their own.”

Indeed, after gushing to guests during his lavish Mexican wedding last year about his desire to become a dad again, Karl, 45, is said to be

“over the moon” about the impending arrival of his new bub with Jasmine, 35.

“He’s on top of the world,” the insider gushed. “This is exactly what he’s wanted for so long now. Jasmine is obviously extremely happy, too, and can’t wait to become a mother for the first time.”

Recently, Jasmine travelled to Queensland to share her happy news with her beloved grandmother, Isabel Hollingworth.

“They’re very close, so Jas wanted to be the one to tell her the news in person,” the source explained. “She was absolutely delighted.”

While the TV host confirmed back in 2010 that he’d had a vasectomy following the birth of his three children, Jackson, 20, Ava, 14, and River, 12, with his previous wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn, the source confirmed that Karl had the operation reversed early this year. And since then, the couple have been desperate to fall pregnant.

“They just haven’t been successful,” the source explained. “But now, it’s finally happened.”

Despite only sharing the news with a handful of people so far – including their parents, Karl’s children and his manager Sharon Finnigan – the insider

expects an official public announcement will be made within the coming weeks.

“The family is really happy,” our source reveals.

The happy news for Karl could signal a fresh start for the embattled TV host in 2020 following a difficult year for the highly-paid star.

The show Karl fronts, This Time Next Year, was not the ratings hit Nine Network would have hoped. Little wonder it won’t return in 2020.

And his recent 60 Minutes story on sharks caused controversy with some wondering whether he’d contributed to people’s fear of the ocean animals.

Now Nine is set to listen to fans’ calls for his return to Today, the show for which he won a Gold Logie back in 2011.

Truth is, Karl being a dad once again is good news for both him and the network.

“Having a baby is the final piece of the puzzle for Karl’s comeback,” the source explains.

“Channel Nine executives think audiences will see him as the family man he once was again, and believe it’s the key to winning back viewers.

“A baby is the ultimate symbol of new beginnings after all, so the timing could not be more perfect.”
